SOF entered into an agreement with NUS, whereby top performing students from India were sent to Singapore to attend a Computer Programme organized by NUS. The camp was held from 13th to 17th Dec 2010 at Singapore.

SOF selected 29 academically brilliant students from 16 schools from across the country. The group consisted of 13 girls and 16 boys from classes 9th, 10th and 11th – selected after a rigorous process of evaluation of their rank in Olympiads and consistency in academic performance.

The group landed in Singapore on 12th Dec and left on 19th Dec for Mumbai en-route to Delhi. The students attended 5 days of rigorous classes conducted by the professors of NUS, followed by computer lab sessions each day at the campus.

After attending classes during the day, the students were taken for sightseeing in the evenings and visited Science Center, Inox theatre, Sentosa – Songs of the Sea, Universal Studio, Little India, Orchard Road and other leading tourist attractions of Singapore.

Students stayed at the hostel within the beautiful campus of NUS and interacted with other students from Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

In the words of students, the Camp gave them exposure to new streams in Computing and allowing them access to the well equipped labs. They also learnt about process of seeking admission to NUS for various programmes after school.

The next Camp is expected to be held in DEC 2011, so watch out for details in case you would like to attend the camp.
