SOF is pleased to announce a partnership with Techfest IIT BOMBAY for conduct of “Innovation Challenge”.

Students from classes 8, 9 & 10 who appear in the SOF-NSO are entitled to appear in the Innovation Challenge. SOF-NSO will be held on 9th Nov & 23rd Nov in schools. No separate registration is required for IC and no additional registration fee needs to be paid.
The class 8, 9 & 10 NSO papers will carry a question common for all classes. Both dates of NSO will have a different question. The Innovation Challenge question DOES NOT have to be answered during the NSO. A sample question that may be asked in IC is as under:
"Design an experiment that you would like to perform if you are in space. Why did you choose this experiment? what results do you expect from the experiment?"
Students must upload the answer to the Innovation Challenge question on Techfest IIT BOMBAY site as per following schedule:

Site address where answer to the IC is to be uploaded will be provided in the SOF-NSO question paper.
Students will also need to answer 10 Multiple Choice Questions at the time of uploading answer. These MCQs’ questions will appear on the site. Sample question is as under:
Consider the following facts:-
(i) A, B, C, D, E and F are six members of a family.
(ii) One couple has parents and their children in the family.
(iii) A is the son of C and E is the daughter of A.
(iv) D is the daughter of F who is the mother of E.
Which of the following pairs is the parents of the couple ?
(a) CF (b) AB (c) AF (d) BC
Top 15 rank holders will be selected for the final round to be held at IIT Bombay on 29th Dec. This will be a three hours written exam.
The answers will be evaluated by faculty of IIT Bombay. Result will be declared on 30th Dec at IIT Bombay.
Each of 15 students qualifying for the final round will be permitted to have an adult accompany her/him to IIT Bombay. Boarding, lodging and reimbursement of travel expenses for qualifying student and accompanying adult will be provided (up to Rs.2000/- person). Following awards will be provided:
Each student uploading answer to IC will get a Participation Certificate.
Top 15 students, selected for the final round at IIT Bombay will be awarded as under:
- Merit Certificate.
- Conducted tour of IIT Bombay.
- Pass to attend all programs at IIT from 29th to 31st Dec.
- Trophies for top 3 rank holders.
- Tablets for top 5 rank holders and
- Other attractive prizes – to be announced separately
